CERT classes begin March 3rd

Watching all the weather challenges being faced by the East Coast this winter should make us all wonder if we would be prepared to handle something similar. What can you do about it? Prepare by making a kit, making a plan, staying informed.

To help in your preparation, the Carnation-Duvall Citizen Corps is offering Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) classes in Carnation on Monday nights from March 3-April 28th, 6:30-9:00 p.m.

Learn how to put out small fires, do light search and rescue, and perform basic medical triage along with learning many other preparedness skills. A donation of $35 is asked for the 20 hours of training which includes a backpack and starting supplies. Registration information can be obtained at www.carnationduvallcitizencorps.org. Training is open to residents and local employees 18 years of age and up; those 16-17 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Go to the Carnation-Duvall Citizen Corps website for a registration form or call 425-788-8260 or email cert@... if you are interested in being a CERT volunteer. See you in class!
