Re: April Ham Test Cancelled

Hi everyone:
I think it will be a good experiment to try on on the air meeting. There most likely be a bit of a learning curve, but I think SNOVARC is up to the challenge. Perhaps the on the air Elemer session could be more operational than theoretical. We could try a 10M tune up, or try a contact drill on 75M. Maybe we could even try some peer to peer Winlink. Just a few ideas.
Chew on these ideas and see what you think.

Sure sorry you had to do this, but we just don't know what this darn virus is going to do. I hope everyone understands that it is better to be cautious.
We will try again later when this virus is behind us.

Re: April Ham Test Cancelled
I would say have the club meeting on the radio but the same format as monthly meeting. This could also be good practice for radio decorum.

I really like the idea of another round table. The morning round table happens while I’m still drinking coffee but a lunchtime or pre-dinner time slot would be fun.

Re: April Ham Test Cancelled
I vote that we have an online meeting for business followed by an online elmer session -just as we would in person. We can announce and run a pilot session one or two times to help folk get setup beforehand.
I also think adding one more on-air roundtable a week would help with the isolation. What do others think?

We need to discuss if we are going to try and have an online or on-air meeting for April.
Thanks,

The radio exercise scheduled for Saturday, March 14th.
Tom WA7TBP
Hello all:
I had a radio exercise scheduled for this Saturday. Due to all the things going on in my personal life and related to some of the Corona virus issues, I am postponing the exercise to a later date. I will keep you posted on the reschedule date.
I hope I haven't messed up any of your plans. If you have questions, please feel free to e-mail me or call me at home, 425-333-4833.

Slim Jim Roll Up J Pole
I have another week and a half in my cast, so I’m not going upstairs to my shack much. I picked up one of these dual band roll up J Poles and while it works well on 2 meter, I’m not getting out on 70 cm. I have it hanging next to my couch and connected to a Yaesu VX6R HT at 5w.
Here’s what my antenna analyzer has to say. The zero impedance is the problem, right? Should be 50 ohms....? Thanks for any thought... - Paul W7PEZ

Is Thursday off then? As an asode, in my own personal opin2, Covid19 is more about fear than reason. I regularly suffer upper respiratory infections and I am flying to Austin next Monday. If I've made a poor xhoice you're all invited to the funeral. Dale Regards, Dale Smith
