RTTY is commonly "wrong sideband". I've spent more hours troubleshooting than I'd admit outside of court. If the 7300 can produce FSK, do that, as you won't struggle with TX audio, as much.

Ken,
Audio has been my focus. Set up for FSK. Have tried setting it for either High Def or Audio Codec speakers and none! No difference. Filter BW set at 500.

Seems more like audio connection, software or interface in my opinion.
I have not played RTTY for some time but when tune allows will take a peak.

I am setting up MMTTY to run RTTY with N1MM logging software. I have gone over all settings in software and IC-7300 radio and I am still only xmitting the left-hand tone as verified by another

Sound card modems are certainly worth the effort of trying, and even if you prefer to not use VOX functions, a USB/serial adapter with RTS is less than $5. You can easily lash together a USB sound
