Re: Best place to get 125' of LM 400?
I never thought of using ladder line like that. Great idea! Thanks!

Bengt-Erik - Awesome! Thanks for the explanation on the different 400's. I'm still working out how best to get my first HF antenna up and running.

Re: Best place to get 125' of LM 400?
I'll look when I'm back home. I may have 100' of excess.
Worth noting that while DXE does occasionally stock LMR400 (a product by Times Microwave), most of what we buy is "DX-400." They are both

Re: ???
If that part is from the base it might just be the center pin connector for the wire part of the antenna. What model antenna is it?

Re: ???
Good question. I had thought it was from the end of the feedline cable but if it’s a pl-259 magmount then it could be from the antenna mount point.
Which is it, Rowland?

Re: ???
It looks like it could be the center of a SO-259 to N adapter...except the pin on the N side looks a little short. Do either of the nylon insulators move?

The internals of a so-239 female to bnc male adapter?
Maybe a higher res photo with a ruler for scale might help...

Does anyone know what this part is. I do not recognize it. It was on the end of Kathy’s mag mount antenna on the PL259 connector.
Thank You,

Re: Best place to get 125' of LM 400?
I looked and 213 seems to be cheaper than lmr400 ultra flex.
At 30mhz 400 loss is 0.8 and for 213 it's 1.0 both per 100 feet. I'm using 213 for hf and lmr400uf on my scanners and vhf/uhf because it

Re: Best place to get 125' of LM 400?
I will second the suggestion on direct burial coax. Two of my feedlines are direct burial LMR-400. The ultraflex stuff is a lot easier to handle but also more expensive.
For HF work it’s worth

Re: Best place to get 125' of LM 400?
3 for dx engineering. Also agree with ultraflex. I vote for the pl-259 connectors. They're supposed to be good up to 300mhz iirc. I only use N for my scanners above uhf.
If you can spare a few
