Re: Radio club radios
Well, I’m going to be at hunting camp and wanted to do something other than VHF. I will probably wait until I pass my general late this year or early the next.
I was unaware 6M was best during

Please get on the repeater at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Even if you have never participated in the Rookie Roundtable at 7 p.m., please at least check in to honor our Jim, W7ABD (sk). 441.825.
Also, please drive somewhere if you have to to get propagation

Dale,
As far as I know the Board has not set a specific policy about borrowing club equipment except that currently it is not inventoried and is to be used at the shack for now...

Radio club radios
Does the club have radios, antennas, and the other accoutrements of RF coms one might borrow? If all goes well I’ll be WSW of Naches, Washington at about 4000 feet and I thought it might be fun to

Re: W7PFB-10 Winlink RMS changes
I’m pretty sure it should be possible to do VARA FM WIDE on an FTM-400D. The connector on the back of the radio includes the right signals but for reasons known only to Yaesu does not use a 6 pin

Re: W7PFB-10 Winlink RMS changes
the nice part is that the DRA-50 is NOT radio specific, and at some point you may have additional radios that are compatible with wide mode.

Well that’s too bad - I guess I jumped the gun on the DRA-50 ☹
Thanks for investigating...

so I did some research on this, and the data port on the ic9700 is connected pre-discriminator, as is the internal soundcard interface. Unfortunately, nobody has documented a modification to change

Re: you can fry a Nest thermostat - on the RFI hunt
First thing to do is put RFI filters on ALL of the control runs connected to the nest; this SHOULD eliminate a lot of its radiated noise, and will probably protect it some as well.
Common mode chokes

Wanted to share this bit of info I've run across in my hunt for RFI in my house. Using an AM radio I noticed my Nest Thermostat was _very_ noisy. There is also no way to turn the thermostat off; it
