What is your opinion of Icoms new ic 705?
I’m in need of a portable HF unit. I love the idea that this unit is both HF & VHF/UHF with lithium ion battery on board. Also same interface as the 7300. Only 10w but could carry an amp. What do

Re: Carnation to Rattlesnake LOS survey
Awesome Shawn! I'm interested in learning more about HAMWAN and how we can leverage it. Thank you and to the rest of the team driving this!
P.S. What software did you to create that map?

Carnation to Rattlesnake LOS survey
We (K7RWB, W7PFB, K7ATA) recently did a LOS (line-of-sight) survey from the carnation shack to the HAMWAN station atop Rattlesnake Ridge.
WITHOUT roof access (new locks, new code) we were able to do

Don't pull too much hair out or you will look like me.......and that is a scary thought!
I would be up for a Zoom VARA class.
Thanks,

Paul (W7PFB) - you are correct. It was a good learning experience and exactly what the drill was for… (its still frustrating ;-) and It’ll take a while to grow back the patch of hair I pulled out

Hmm, I don’t understand why they don’t work together? And doesn’t this happen anytime you’re on HF then? I have the LDG IT-100 tuner paired with my 7300. It tunes when I press the Tune button

Howard,
Do not feel too bad. We have all been there one way or another. That is the beauty of drilling. It let's you find the bad issues and correct them before a real event takes place and it is

10m tuneup - total disaster and embarrassing lesson learned
If my life depended on getting on 10m yesterday to report my location during a disaster - I'd be dead today. My 10m antenna is not the best to begin with. It's a 6-40m dipole. I get better luck with
