Re: Double Nickel Simplex Net Tonight
My Yaesu 400 has an altitude indicator. That is a great correlation with signal strength I’ve learned.

Try this link - and, no, it doesn't take into consideration "buildings and other obstructions".

Yes, that is a great map. I’m curious what software that is too! Lots of uses for that.

Double Nickel Simplex Net Tonight
Every Saturday night at 8pm, there is a Simplex net on 146.55
Lately, the host has been Dan KB7RYY in Bellevue. Dan is easy to hear, but there are lots of 5w stations around that can be a challenge.

Re: What is your opinion of Icoms new ic 705?
I defiantly want one when they go on sale! That is assuming Icom does not price it outside of my means.
Cool QRP Rig. I love the display on the 7300, so this is big plus. Also it

What is your opinion of Icoms new ic 705?
I’m in need of a portable HF unit. I love the idea that this unit is both HF & VHF/UHF with lithium ion battery on board. Also same interface as the 7300. Only 10w but could carry an amp. What do

Re: Carnation to Rattlesnake LOS survey
Awesome Shawn! I'm interested in learning more about HAMWAN and how we can leverage it. Thank you and to the rest of the team driving this!
P.S. What software did you to create that map?

Carnation to Rattlesnake LOS survey
We (K7RWB, W7PFB, K7ATA) recently did a LOS (line-of-sight) survey from the carnation shack to the HAMWAN station atop Rattlesnake Ridge.
WITHOUT roof access (new locks, new code) we were able to do

Paul (W7PFB) - you are correct. It was a good learning experience and exactly what the drill was for… (its still frustrating ;-) and It’ll take a while to grow back the patch of hair I pulled out
