Hello everyone I was contacted by law enforcement and asked if I could put the word out to see if we can find the rightful owner of a Yaesu VX-7R HT.  Unfortunately we do not know the originating location other than in the greater Seattle area.  If you have lost or know someone who has lost this model radio and have the serial # please contact me ASAP, so that I can get you in touch with the authorities to recover your property.  Please forward this to any HAM related lists that you feel appropriate.

Thank you for your time and effort.

From The King County Flood Warning Center

slick <rb@...>

The King County Flood Warning Center, which has been monitoring rain-swollen rivers since early Wednesday morning, has issued a Phase II flood alert level for the Green River. Only minor flooding is expected as a result of controlled increased flows on the Green River, and only in the primarily rural areas without river levees upstream of Auburn.

Flows on the Green River are expected to reach or exceed 7,000 cubic feet per second (CFS) at the Auburn gage sometime early Thursday morning, March 31, as a result of the planned releases from Howard Hanson Dam, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' flood-control dam in the upper Green River watershed. Releasing water now provides the Corps with more flood-storage capacity for additional rainfall.

Meanwhile, the Snoqualmie and Tolt rivers remain at Phase III flood alert levels, with some flooding of low-lying areas noted. Flood patrol crews have been in the field monitoring conditions since mid-afternoon Wednesday.

King County staff will continue to monitor stream gages and weather reports, and will provide updated information on river conditions as necessary. Real-time river level information is available online at http://www.kingcounty.gov/flood.

Updated information on flooding will also be posted on the King County website at www.kingcounty.gov, or via RPIN, the area's regional website at http://www.rpin.org. A recorded flood-information hotline is also updated each hour for citizens wanting information in flood areas. The number is 206-296-8200 or 1-800-945-9263.

Citizens who need help interpreting flood information should call 206-296-4535 or 1-800-768-7932. Problems on county maintained roads can be reported by calling 206-296-8100 or 1-800-KC-ROADS.

An automated flood alert system is now available and provides real-time warning of potential high water on more than a half-dozen rivers. King County residents and business owners can sign up to receive King County Flood Alerts by visiting www.kingcounty.gov/flood, or by calling 206-263-3400 during regular business hours to register by phone. Messages of potential high flows on any of King County's major river systems can be sent by phone, text or email.

Asking For Help......

slick <rb@...>

Here is an email I got asking for radio help for a couple of events.  If you are interested please contact Alan.

Spring is now officially here and with it come the annual bicycling events. Tour de Cure will be held Saturday, May 21st, and Flying Wheels on Saturday, June 11th. The thousands of bicyclists and organizers of these 2 events - among others - rely heavily upon the skills and efforts of the ham community to track and assist participants who need help during the day. Please encourage emcomm hams within your organization to participate.

I will coordinate the communications and SAG support for Flying Wheels on June 11th, which will be headquartered at Marymoor County Park near the velodrome on the eastern side of the park. If you or other members of the Snoqualmie Valley Amateur Radio Club are interested in participating please let me know. If you can only assist for a portion of the day, that's fine; you don't have to commit to the whole day.

I'll be assembling and sending out well in advance of June 11th information that will help volunteers get oriented with radio frequencies, other SAG and comm unit names and call signs, start times, routes and mile markers, equipment suggestions, etc.

These events are "planned disasters" and serve as extraordinarily good training for real disasters that may strike our communities. They're fun and you'll get a lot of air-time with your radios. We need hams in SAG vehicles, hams at rest, aid and mechanical stops along the routes, and hams in net control in the Redmond Police & Fire Mobile Command Post (the white Winnebago) which will be at Marymoor all day. Come join us for a rewarding day of fun, good training and good will!
