I don’t own a PO Box and have my home address on file with the FCC. My physical QTH is a bit east of Cottage Lake. 22209 NE 156th Place Woodinville, 98077 Thanks, Paul, W7PEZ On Aug 21, 2020, at 7:31 PM, Tom WA7TBP via groups.io <tomwa7tbp@...> wrote:

My mistake, Paul (W7PFB) has the P.O. Box. Paul (W7PEZ) is on the map.

Following up on Paul’s (W7PEZ) location error, attached is a new map with his correct one. Not hearing any other comments, I believe everyone else is located correctly.
Thanks again to Tom (WA7TBP) and all who participated, Bob, KI7RMO

I just saw this. My location is incorrect. I am further east by Paradise Lake Road. On Sat, Aug 22, 2020, 4:08 PM Bob Otis <rmot47@...> wrote:

I believe I now have everyone. PaulB, PaulZ and Robin were updated for location and elevation, so it should be OK. If not, just let me know.

Line of sight is a little more complicated than just a line between two points

Note that lens shaped ellipse drawn with the ‘line’, hat’s the Fresnel zone. Basically you’d really like that entire zone to be clear, and more than half of it is occluded in your case. On top of that the line is drawn assuming antenna height of 12 meters at each end, and that’s probably not right. Note that the size of the Fresnel zone varies with wavelength. Beyond that lots of things can affect signals. Buildings, trees (especially trees with wet foliage), you name it. That said I bet if you put your antenna up another 60 feet things would improve.

Howard,
How well was Tom hearing you? Consider the power each of you were running at the time. Also, do you know how well your antenna is/was performing? Feedline, SWR, antenna type (assume it was a vertical, with some gain maybe)- these can all affect performance and this type of test is a good one to repeat and sort out potential issues that you might not detect when using repeaters.
