Carnation Shack
The KE7GFZ club radio shack is located on the second floor of the City Hall building in Carnation, WA. Access is thru the center door of the three street doors, go up the stairs, the room is around and to the right at the top of the stairs. For the access codes for the street door and the door into the shack, contact Paul Butzi W7PFB.
Radios
There are several radios operational in the shack:
- Kenwood TM-V71A dual band VHF/UHF
- Kenwood TM-D710G dual band VHF/UHF
Power:
There are two Samlex SEC-1223 power supplies that are used to provide nominal 12v DC power for gear in the shack. Gear has been converted to Anderson PowerPole connectors in the conventional ARES configuration for 12 volt power.
Repeater
The SNOVARC Carnation repeater is located in the shack, operating on 441.850 MHz with a positive shift and tone 103.5. It is powered from the 120VAC mains.
Antennas
There are two Comet GP-15 antennas on the roof. These are 3 band antennas with coverage on 6m, 2m, and 70cm.
The southernmost antenna (located in the center of the roof) is fed via LMR400 coax feedline through the patch panel alongside the window. The northernmost antenna is fed via RG8X feedline through the patch panel.
Currently the southernmost antenna is dedicated to the Carnation repeater. The northernmost antenna is currently attached to the Kenwood TM-D710G dual band transceiver.
